1. Scope
This Privacy Policy explains how TaxTherapist Inc. collects, uses, discloses, stores, retains, and otherwise processes personal information in connection with the Service.
2. Information We Collect
We may collect the following categories of information:
- (a) Account and Contact Information
Name, email address, account credentials, company name, billing information, and other identifiers you provide. - (b) User Content
Documents, tax forms, IRS notices, correspondence, prompts, messages, attachments, and other materials you upload or submit. - (c) Technical and Device Information
IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers, log data, timestamps, referral information, and approximate location derived from IP. - (d) Usage Information
Information about how you access and use the Service, including interactions, features used, pages viewed, clicks, and session activity. - (e) Communications
Support requests, feedback, surveys, and correspondence with us. - (f) Payment Information
If we offer paid services, payment information may be collected and processed by third-party payment processors. We may receive limited billing-related information from those processors.
3. Sources of Information
We collect information directly from you, automatically from your use of the Service, and from service providers or integrations that support operation of the Service.
4. How We Use Information
We may use personal information to: (a) provide, operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Service; (b) authenticate users and manage accounts; (c) process uploads and generate outputs; (d) develop, test, train, evaluate, and improve models, systems, and features; (e) monitor quality, performance, safety, abuse, and fraud; (f) communicate with you about the Service, updates, support, legal notices, and administrative matters; (g) enforce our Terms and protect our rights, users, systems, and business; (h) comply with legal obligations and lawful requests; and (i) create aggregated, de-identified, or statistical information.
5. AI Training and System Improvement
Unless prohibited by applicable law or unless we expressly offer a separate written opt-out for a specific product tier, we may use prompts, outputs, interactions, and uploaded content to develop, test, improve, train, and refine our models and systems.
We may apply de-identification, aggregation, pseudonymization, redaction, abstraction, and other measures designed to reduce identification risk. We may retain de-identified and aggregated data indefinitely, subject to applicable law.
6. How We Disclose Information
We may disclose personal information to: (a) service providers, contractors, cloud providers, analytics providers, customer support providers, communications vendors, and security vendors that perform services for us; (b) affiliates and successors in connection with a merger, acquisition, restructuring, financing, due diligence process, sale of assets, bankruptcy, or similar transaction; (c) professional advisors such as lawyers, auditors, and insurers; (d) governmental authorities, regulators, courts, or law enforcement where required by law, subpoena, court order, or legal process, or where we believe disclosure is necessary to protect rights, safety, or property; and (e) other parties with your direction or consent.
We do not sell personal information for money. However, depending on how applicable law defines “sell,” “share,” or “targeted advertising,” some uses of analytics, advertising, or similar technologies could be treated differently under certain laws.
7. Cookies and Similar Technologies
We may use cookies, pixels, local storage, SDKs, session replay tools, and similar technologies to operate the Service, remember preferences, analyze usage, improve performance, prevent fraud, and support communications or marketing where permitted by law.
You may be able to control certain cookies through browser settings or other tools, though doing so may affect functionality.
8. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including to provide the Service, maintain records, resolve disputes, detect abuse, enforce agreements, comply with law, and improve systems.
If you delete your account or request deletion, we will take commercially reasonable steps to delete or de-identify personal information, subject to legal, operational, security, backup, fraud-prevention, audit, and compliance needs.
De-identified, aggregated, and system-level learnings, patterns, statistics, and analytical logic may be retained indefinitely, subject to applicable law.
9. Data Security
We use commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information. However, no method of transmission, storage, or security is guaranteed to be completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. International Transfers
We may process and store information in the United States and other jurisdictions where we or our service providers operate. By using the Service, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in jurisdictions that may have different data protection laws than your jurisdiction.
11. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of certain personal information, and to appeal certain decisions regarding your requests.

12. California Privacy Notice
If you are a California resident, you may have the right, subject to exceptions and verification, to: (a) know and access the personal information we collect, use, disclose, sell, or share about you; (b) request deletion of personal information; (c) request correction of inaccurate personal information; (d) opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information; (e) limit the use and disclosure of sensitive personal information, where applicable; and (f) not receive discriminatory treatment for exercising your privacy rights.

We do not knowingly sell personal information for monetary consideration. We also do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of individuals under 16 years of age.
13. Nevada Residents
If applicable Nevada law gives you the right to opt out of certain sales of covered information, you may submit such a request to info@taxtherapist.ai.
14. Children’s Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 18 for independent use of the Service. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us so we can take appropriate steps.
15. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be effective when posted unless otherwise stated.
